Welcome to Kristo's art from Cuba - or better about Cuba!
Kristo is a scientific illustrator and lives and works in Switzerland.
He
originally found a family in Havana, then heat, rain and noise as well
as old vehicles, faded architecture and of course the Cuban
people with their art of living taken to perfection and their talent
for improvisation. Together they form the backbone of the stories he
tells in his drawings, in which everyday life in the
streets of the Cuban capital is documented with meticulous attention to
detail.
A picture in full size
These views of squares and streets really are big – very big!
Only part of them can be reproduced on the website for this reason. If
you'd like to take a look at a whole picture – and don't mind
waiting a moment for it to download – click here for a drawing in high resolution (20MB).
